One Plane Golf Swing

* Fundamentals of one plane golf swing *

Jim Hardy is attributed for the one plane golf swing. He initially considered that in golf there are two primary sets: a one plane swing and two plane swing. Although there are many swing variations, every golfer demonstrates qualities of any of the two fundamental sets. Hardy also noted that the two sets cannot be combined. You cannot get components from the one plane swing and then integrate them in a two plane swing and vice versa.

Some golf enthusiasts who are considering that if golfers are to be categorized, they can fall under the two fundamental sets. Golf experts say that Hardy's ideas can help golfers to better understand the physics of the golf swing.

In one plane golf swing, the golfer's spine angle is further bent over which allows the golfer's shoulders to rotate; hence, the result is a swing. He said that in order to swing perfectly, the hands should be placed under or inside the golfer's chin at the time of address. Swing your arms around if you're doing a backswing. But limit the movement behind your body instead of moving your arms to the front.

At transition, you should rotate your body to the left. Do this after you've shifted your weight to the left side of your body. By doing this, you'll experience a rotation that is effortless. You'll have more freedom to rotate when doing the downswing since your golf club, shoulders and arms are already properly positioned.

Knowing these fundamentals of golf and its main concepts can help you improve your swing as well as in lowering your score.

* Mastery *

If you're having problems mastering a one plane golf swing as early as now, don't be frustrated because it usually takes months or years to master this. If taking the club back in one smooth movement can be challenging, what more if you don't have enough skill to perfect it yet.

You can do some exercises that you can practice and help you master the skill of rotating the golf club around your body instead of lifting it straight up. This movement is quite a challenge, but once your arms and muscles are well-practiced, it will come to you as natural.

There are two things that you can do to further enhance your knowledge of the one plane golf swing. First is to learn from the pros and the masters of golf. By watching their moves, you'll have an idea of how they execute every swing and every move. You can get online movie clips for free or download DVD copies of past golf tournaments.

The second thing to do is to practice on the fairway all the lessons you've learned. If you are under the supervision of an instructor, it is better to ask for guidance while you're trying to learn the ropes. If you're an advanced golfer, mastery should be your main goal at this point- of course using theory and application.
